  1. I am looking for a cross between eduClipper and Pinterest.

As an Art History teacher, I need more than the 200 characters Pinterest has now made mandatory per image. I need to discuss and debate images, and provide historical context, and allow colleagues and students to respond.

After the student logs in with my class code, I should see them automatically in my class... and I do not.

I am having trouble adding content from my Google Drive to my educlipper boards. It takes to to the site that requires me to give permission, but then routes me back to my account page. When I try again to click on the Drive icon to add content, it repeats the same steps. thanks

At present, it appears that if you created your educlipper account through GAFE, you cannot use your Google email and password to access educlipper directly via their website or the new iPad app. There is only a Google + button. Need another for google account access too.

                      • Add a way to attach a file to the feedback on an assignment.

I would like to be able to attach a file to the feedback for a student. I use a rubric spreadsheet to grade the assignment and currently can't attached them to the feedback. It could also be a way to post a clip with the spreadsheet to a students clipboard. Can't figure out how to post to someone else's clipboard and keep it private.

                          Hi Jay,

Thanks for the suggestion. Currently we hadn’t planned on attached a Rubric to the feedback, but are looking to create an interactive Rubric creation tool that can be added to the assignment itself, before it is sent. You can currently add it yourself when creating the assignment by creating a clip that is the empty rubric for all your students to look at while completing the assignment. By default, the feedback you put on a students’ assignment is private, unless you check the access that students and other teachers have on it’s creation.

                          Hope that is helpful!

                          Best,
                          Adam

                        • Set up a collaborative clipboard

I would like my students to look for videos and images about physical concepts and to share them into a common clipboard. Is it possible? I've been trying to use the "collaborate" option, but It doesn't seem to work. I haven't been able to introduce any of my students therein.

                          Thank you

                            Hi Sandro,

On Monday we will have the option for you to click on “Collaborate” from a board or when you create a board and then invite groups or classes to the clipboard to work with you at the same time to clip resources together. The current implementation was flawed and we have been working on it for the past week and a half. Come Monday morning it should be in place.

                          • Change picture orientation?

Is there a way to change the orientation of a picture once it is "clipped." Two pictures I have added from my computer have uploaded landscape, even though the original was portrait so the picture is sideways.

                            • I am confused about setting student permisions.

I set my class permission for "classmates and educators only," but if I check any student permission they say "all content." Do I need to reset each student individually?

Thanks for the note! We are looking to redesign the entire site in the near future and will be making the website more responsive for all screen sizes. This should be in place in about 2-3 months. Thanks!

                                • Allow (or provide a setting for) unregistered users to view user's dashboard

If I go to educlipper.net as an unregistered user (or just not logged in) and click on a users profile name to see all the things they have clipped on their dashboard it prompts me to create an account. If I want to share my content to others who may not have or ever want to create an account, they cannot see my content. Maybe provide a setting for private/public for accounts, boards and individual clips.

                                    UPDATE

This is on the list for this week as soon as we squash some bugs with the portfolio feature and then we will release this. I estimate this or next week at the latest.

                                    Hello Melissa and Nancy,

Thanks for the reply – We are going to add the ability for educators to have open profiles that don’t need to be logged in to see them and will also work on the idea of allowing students to have open profiles as well – which goes along with an idea we have for Parent access. It is in the roadmap for the very near future – but I can’t guarantee it for this week as there are some major developments that are being finished up.

Thanks again for the feedback and rest assured that we will address this issue and offer the functionality you request ASAP.

                                    Thanks,
                                    Adam

                                    • Student accounts

I'm new here and am trying to figure a couple things out. When I create a class, does that automatically create accounts for the students? Additionally, if students are using eduClipper in multiple classes, do they only need one account?

                                        Hello,

When you create a class there are two choices, you can either set up a class group code that your students can use when registering (or add under the “Add Class” button if they are already a user). If you choose, you can upload a CSV file with all the students’ names and it will automatically create accounts for them on the system as well as give you papers you can print and hand out telling them how to get started with the information they will need.

And yes – if they only need one account to be involved with multiple classes.

                                        Hope that helps!
                                        Adam

As the teacher I would like to be able to manually edit my students profiles. For example, when I move the grade slider it is set as a range and I want to state the specific grade my students are in. The students are not allowed to select their own grade and if I change the grade it stays on grade 3.

                                          Hi Melissa,

When you create a class you can actually move the slider so that both circles are on one grade which would put them in 3rd grade specifically.

Are you talking about students moving to the next grade? We are working on code that will automatically increase a student’s grade in their profile each July.

Happy to hear your thoughts or to clarify further if I missed the point.

                                          Thanks,
                                          Adam
